MY LIGHT BULB MOMENT
Age 16, I had my first taste of Sauternes at Chateau D'Arche... WHAT IS THIS DELICIOUSNESS?! Age 18, I began working with my father crunching numbers on wine appraisals. Age 33, I taught my very first wine class to a bunch of actors I was touring with. Holy cow, I know more than I thought. I started getting certifications, blogging, I became a partner in my father's business, created my YouTube series, and am currently a Master of Wine student. Share

At age 16, Annie Edgerton, the Wine Minx™, discovered the charms of wine
during a trip to France with her parents. After graduating from Dartmouth
College, she has been subsequently employed in many arenas of the wine industry
for over twenty years.
Since the early 90s, Ms. Edgerton has been working with her father, William H. Edgerton, in the business of wine appraisals and consultation. Together, they have conducted wine appraisals for hundreds of clients’ collections, and they specialize in adjudicating wine for insurance purposes as well as investigating counterfeit wines. She has also worked for numerous New York wine auction houses and with the respected NYC wine retailers Morrell & Company and Tribeca Wine Merchants.
Ms. Edgerton started writing about wine in the mid 1990s with a series of articles for a CT chain of newspapers. In 2003, she began teaching private classes for large and small groups on understanding and enjoying wine. She has partnered with The Lion restaurant in Greenwich Village to curate and host a series of wine dinners and has consulted on Mezzrow Jazz Club’s wine list.
During the past few years, Ms. Edgerton has greatly expanded her presence in the world of wine. She developed and trademarked a persona, WINE MINX™, she regularly contributes articles to her blog (www.wineminx.blogspot.com), and on social media she has a Facebook fan page (Wine Minx) and an instagram and twitter presence (@WineMinxAnnie). She is currently at work on a streamlined and witty introduction-to-wine book, “All You REALLY Need to Know About Wine,” as well a guide for wine-loving travelers.
Ms. Edgerton is a Certified Sommelier with the Court of Master Sommeliers, is qualified as a Certified Specialist of Wine by the leading wine education body in the US, the Society of Wine Educators, and she has earned the Advanced Certificate (with Distinction) from the international leader in wine certification, the Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) based in the UK. She is USPAP (Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice) compliant. And she holds certificates from Kevin Zraly’s Windows on the World Wine School, Wines of Portugal Academia do Vinho Level 3 Advanced, the Tuscan Wine Masters Academy, Napa Valley Rocks, and is certified in the Art of Sabrage (sabering open Champagne bottles.) Ms. Edgerton has also visited numerous vineyards and wineries in the US and in Europe, including recent trips to Sicily, Portugal, and Turkey.
Ms. Edgerton is also a professional actor and singer, recently appearing in the Broadway smash hits "Kinky Boots" and “Mamma Mia!” and in regional theaters, film and television.
