My passion and drive to learn more about the world of wine has led me to work in some of the best restaurants in the U.S. and has ultimately brought me to the world famous Napa Valley in California. Some people spend their lives focused in a specific field of interest their entire lives... A couple years ago, I made the decision to devote my entire life to the vine and understand every aspect of what makes great wine truly great. Wine is a fun hobby, but it makes for an unbelievable profession!

"The somm community is national and very tight. These sommeliers travel together, party together and study together electronically. In fact they mentor each other. Anthony Mueller has an electronic study group with advanced and certified sommeliers in all corners of the country. I consider Anthony to be a role model for me as I continue my wine education."
- Geoff Labitzke, MW

"He is the type of person who will go far as he is dedicated, and will work hard in his role while keeping a smile on his face."
- Mark Tarbell, Chef & Owner, Tarbell's Restaurant/Tavern/Wine Store

"It can be said without hesitation that he was always extremely professional, dependable, punctual and diligent in his work. His advanced knowledge of the operational standards of a fine dining venue was evident at all times. His professionalism was always apparent in the dining room, as well as his ability to read the guests and to assist his coworkers whenever necessary. Anthony's attention to detail and his ability to foresee problems or issues is to be commended. Anthony is, in short, intelligent, courteous and very prompt. He is also very versatile in the respect to be able to wait tables, bartend, train new employees, and assist in taking care of large groups both on and off premise. Anthony also has a great understanding of wine and is confident in making suggestions as well as pairings with cuisine. He definitely holds all the attributes necessary to being a great employee such as honesty, loyalty and professionalism."
- Jim Schulz, Maitre d' & Sommelier, Tribute Restaurant

Anthony Mueller is a sommelier and wine presenter with more than 20 years of experience in the food and wine industry. He has worked as a sommelier in some of the top restaurants in the US, including the three-Michelin star The French Laundry in Yountville, California, Tribute in Michigan and Tarbell's in Arizona. He holds numerous wine certifications, including the Advanced Sommelier certificate from the Court of Master Sommeliers, the Wine & Spirit Education Trust Level 3 Award in Wines, the Certified Specialist of Wine certificate from the Society of Wine Educators, and the Certified Sake Adviser certificate from the Sake School of America. In 2016, he was named "Sommelier of the Month" by Food & Beverage magazine.

Mueller is an experienced wine judge, presenter and educator. He has judged wine competitions in California, Washington, Nevada and Arizona and has lectured at wine events across the US, focusing on the finer points of hospitality and service as well as the deductive tasting method. Mueller has been the recipient of several travel endowments, allowing him to explore the wine regions of the US and Europe, and was awarded the Champagne Master Level Study Program Scholarship from Laurent-Perrier USA.

Originally from Scottsdale, Arizona, Mueller relocated to Napa in 2014 to continue his pursuit of becoming the world's next "double master"—studying to achieve both the Master Sommelier and Master of Wine diplomas. In 2019, he joined Robert Parker Wine Advocate as a reviewer, excited to share his passion for identifying the world's best wines and presenting them to consumers. When not drinking Sherry, Mueller enjoys riding his motorcycle, exploring the beauty of Napa Valley. Although he has never been to culinary school, Mueller enjoys cooking elaborate meals in his small kitchen at home, preparing dishes made with ingredients grown from his home garden.
