MY LIGHT BULB MOMENT
When I was 16 I was a restaurant line cook & baker and took my first trip to France discovering Vouvray demi-sec - my path was firmly established. Years later I got to try great wines from all over the world when I opened and managed a modern Italian restaurant in Macau China in 1993. Finally in 1996 I took the Court of Master Sommeliers' Introductory Course & Exam to make myself a better manager. Wine won - restaurant management lost.

RAVE REVIEWS
I am writing this recommendation of David Glancy, MS, of whom I hold the highest regard. Without David's guidance and mentoring in the class at Professional Culinary Institute I would not have had the confidence to move forward and change careers from Mortgage Banking to being a Certified Sommellier and think about moving on in the Master Court Program and becoming a MS myself. His patience is unyielding, and he truly cares about his students. Since 2008, I have gone on to start my own Brokerage, and I have also been asked to do floor time with several high end establishments and I have been asked to write wine notes for several Wine Makers, thus far. none of this could have been done, had I not been mentored by David Glancy, and I am constantly referring back to my copious notes that I have taken in his class. Cheers to you David, and I cannot thank you enough for all you have taught me, and I look forward to learning even more...

Attending David's Certified Sommelier Program is one of the best decisions I have ever made! In three months you will learn more than you ever thought you could in such a short period of time. Everything learned is useful in the market and the knowledge acquired will definitely help you immensely within the industry. Highly professional, expert, with an incredible amount of knowledge that he loves to share with his students, and anyone interested. Patient, caring, approachable, motivating, knowledgeable, funny are only some of the words that describe him. He will be there for you to answer every question and make sure you understand. I, personally, finished the program over a year ago, and still reach out to him with questions and for advise; unbelievably, with his incredibly busy schedule, he finds the time to get back to me every single time and he does it with great care and willingness!

San Francisco Wine School
Founder & CEO

David Glancy is one of only twelve people in the world to hold both the revered Master Sommelier diploma and a Certified Wine Educator credential. A French Wine Scholar, Italian Wine Professional, and Certified Specialist of Spirits, Glancy has earned the credential for every program he teaches, and more. In 2015 the French Wine Society awarded Glancy Educator of the Year out of the 40 countries their program is taught. He taught wine and business management at Le Cordon Bleu’s California Culinary Academy in San Francisco, and served on the editorial board of Sommelier Journal. He currently sits on the board of directors for the Society of Wine Educators. When one didn’t exist, Glancy created a Certified Sommelier Program at the Professional Culinary Institute, successfully coaching more than 400 students to pass the Court’s Certified Sommelier exam. Glancy’s program remains the only Certified Sommelier program officially approved by the Court of Master Sommeliers. Soon after in 2011, Glancy founded San Francisco Wine School to create the ideal educational setting from the ground up.
