MY LIGHT BULB MOMENT
The first time I was up against six wines blind I was able to awaken all of my senses for the first time in my life. There is nothing more humbling, educational, and exciting than discovering a wine without bias or intimidation. Wine brings out the best and worst in us and I love rediscovering my own strengths and weaknesses through reading, tasting, and attempting to understand grape juice.

John Jansma, Wine Director and Service Professional, has taken New Jersey by storm. For more than ten years in the industry, starting as a humble waiter, he now thrills and entertains guests from all over the New York/Tri-State area on a nightly basis. John takes a hands on approach with his staff and guests to create flavorful combinations and memorable dining experiences.John is currently teaching wine, spirit, and cocktail classes to both his staff and guests and recently won the Iron Shaker Cocktail Competition for the state of New Jersey and Wine Spectator's Best Award of Excellence. John is a graduate of the Sommelier Society of America class of 2012 and takes self-education very seriously. He attends blind tastings and events with other New Jersey wine professionals on a weekly basis and plans to improve upon his formal training through the Court of Master Sommeliers.Although his career is just beginning, John has served as the Wine Director and Sommelier for some of the most notable restaurants in New Jersey such as The Ram's Head Inn and Restaurant Serenade.
