MY LIGHT BULB MOMENT
When I was 21, on my first trip to Napa, I tasted the 1974 Heitz Martha's Vineyard and the 1974 BV Georges de Latour Cabs. Quite a high bar so early in my youth made for a quest to discover that magic in a bottle once again.

I'm a wine enthusiast and am surrounded with friends who share my passion. It makes for a very rewarding life.

Eddie Osterland came to my home for a New Year's Eve celebration many years ago and told me we had too many good wines open. At the time I disagreed, replying that "Too much is just enough," but now I have come to understand what he meant.

He also gave me two great pieces of advice:

1. Drink the best wine first, while your palette is fresh, and

2. The best time to taste a great wine is with friends early on a Sunday afternoon, after a day of fasting, so that your senses are heightened.

It's advise I've taken to heart, and he was my inspiration to pursue accrediation through The Court.
