Discovering a newfound passion within the world of wine, Larry Mejia is touching the lives of many restaurant patrons through the art of fine dining service as he pursues a gratifying career within the hospitality industry. With a mission to create remarkable dining experiences, he uses his vast wine and beverage knowledge to curate a culinary journey by pairing wine from around the world with indulging fare, imprinting memories that his guests will hold for a lifetime.
As a dedicated professional, learning and development has become an essential tool in his quest to become a prominent figure within the competitive world of hospitality. He holds certifications from reputable beverage organizations including: The Court of Master Sommeliers; Cicerone Certification Program; and The Sake Education Council. Over 15 years of experience in the food and beverage field also adds substance to his current role as a Certified Sommelier.
He has worked in various restaurant positions alongside many notable chefs and culinary teams including Daniel Boulud, Kerry Simon, and Tom Colicchio. Luxury brands such as Wynn Las Vegas, Mandarin Oriental, and The Mirage is where he has refined his service skills with some of Las Vegas’ most talented and experienced service professionals.
As a person of many interests, he also has worked at Wicked Creative Public Relations in Las Vegas where he assisted with many client accounts including Cirque du Soleil’s The Beatles Revolution Lounge, Cathouse at Luxor, and celebrity hairstylist Michael Boychuck. At the agency, his experience grew by devising and implementing comprehensive communication plans and navigating tactical PR strategies to completion.
Larry is a graduate of the University of Las Vegas, Nevada with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and marketing. Larry also continues to improve his PR skills and has recently completed the public relations certificate program at UNLV.
