MY LIGHT BULB MOMENT
It involved champagne in London. I never cared for what I thought was "champagne" before 2014 because when I drank it at weddings or on NYE I always ended up with a horrible hangover the next day. What I was really drinking was inexpensive American sparkling wine. But after becoming friends with someone who was obsessed with real champagne, my life changed.I became obsessed with it. My husband and I traveled to Champagne and also became fans of cremant and proseccco.
Living in London for three years allowed me the opportunity to travel extensively, eat amazing food and educate myself on wine, beer and spirits. I am now sharing that knowledge by planning highly-customized vacations for busy people who want authentic experiences but do not have the time to do the research and planning. I've passed the Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET) Level 2 exam and am awaiting the results of my Level 3 exam.
Why am I such a good planning nerd? I am an operations officer with vast leadership experience in the intelligence and policy communities. I've done multiple tours overseas and in some of the most dangerous places in the world where I constantly had to make quick decisions in crisis environments. My Master of Arts (MA) is in International Security and Development from The George Washington University. I'm using these skills for my career change helping people discover authentic, once-in-a-lifetime experiences through highly customized, personal travel research and planning.
